General Usage¶
FedMS is an online software that is executed and used in a web browser. The most important operating elements are described on this page.
Tipp
Not all operating elements are available to all users. Which elements you actually see depends on your user roles.

The left Toolbar: Main menu¶
You can access the FedMS application start page at any time by clicking on the icon at the top.
The plus icon opens a drop-down menu for creating new content. Which content is available to you depends on your user roles.
In the next block of the main menu you will find a number of icons for opening content overviews.
This block is followed by various icons that give you access to the various areas of configuration and administration of the application. Which elements are available to you also depends on your user roles.
Tipp
The menu on the left can be expanded or collapsed. You can use the button at the bottom left to do this. We recommend leaving the menu collapsed most of the time so that more space is available for the actual functions.
